The University is seeking an experienced Director, Strategic Procurement who will provide leadership, expertise and direction to the procurement function. The Director, Strategic Procurement will establish a highly talented team to deliver best in class processes for the procurement of goods and services for the University. They will develop and lead active strategic, commercial and sustainable relationships with suppliers for the benefit of the University and look to create mutually beneficial commercial engagements.
The Director, Strategic Procurement reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is a newly created role. The incumbent will lead the development and implementation of Macquarie University’s procurement strategy and will champion a strong procurement culture across the University by providing leadership, direction and change management to ensure the University’s procurement processes are state of the art, deliver real savings and are strategically focused.
The successful candidate will have experience in developing procurement strategies and strategic supplier engagements that deliver on the strategic agenda. They will be a commercially astute self-starter who works well in dynamic, ambiguous environments. A track record of building teams and embedding a service culture is essential.
