The Deputy Vice-Chancellor – Academic (DVC – A) portfolio has a key role in overseeing the development of a balanced academic staff profile for the University as well as the capabilities of the academy. The portfolio also oversees the development and execution of the Indigenous strategy across the University, as well as sustainability, widening participation, and the University Art Gallery.

Walanga Muru is currently seeking an Indigenous Workforce Development Coordinator who will contribute to the sustainable development of Macquarie’s Indigenous workforce. This is a key role which supports and coordinates activities to attract, retain and develop Indigenous staff at the University. To be considered for this position, applicants will demonstrate the below requirements in their CV and a 1 - 2 page cover letter:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience or training
- Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and a knowledge and understanding of the issues relating to employment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
- Proven project management experience in programs or projects
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
