The Role

As a Library Services Assistant you will provide professional, efficient and client centred service to clients in physical and virtual environments. You will be providing support at a variety of service points, including a roving support service.  We are seeking staff who are passionate about delivering excellent quality client service in a busy, changing Library environment.

You will be a member of the Collection Organisation team reporting to a Library Services Coordinator with whom you will collaborate to deliver continuous improvement of services, ensuring client access to relevant physical Library collections.  You will also contribute to service support activities provided by other Library departments as required.  Whilst at service points you will take direction from the shift coordinator responsible for that shift to understand and resolve issues when they arise.

Strong client focus, attention to detail, excellent communication and organisation skills are essential to success in this role, along with the ability to work effectively in a team.  We require flexible, proactive individuals with a willingness to learn new skills. 

Day, evening and weekend shifts will be required.

Selection Criteria

  • Experience in libraries or similar environment
  • Skill and experience in providing responsive, accurate and timely services to clients
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Skill and experience in collaborating with, and working as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to service improvements

Appointment type: Full time, fixed term position until 12th of June 2018 

Salary Package: From $55,466 to $63,321 (Hew 3), plus 9.5% superannuation and annual leave loading
