The Learning and Teaching team within the Faculty is responsible for managing the student learning experience and managing the staff teaching experience. The Student Support Officer (High Achieving Students) will provide ongoing coordination and management of a multitude of programs, which includes liaising with relevant stakeholder including student, staff and partner organisations.

The Role 

Reporting to the Associate Dean, Learning and Teaching you be involved in:

  • Developing and maintaining processes and systems to support mentoring and professional development programs such as record keeping and documentation practices
  • Developing project plans in collaboration with relevant stake holders that incorporate budget, program planning, implementation, and monitoring/review requirements
  • Monitoring task progress against agreed milestones to ensure delivery
  • Advising the impact of any modifications to all stakeholders
  • Resolving any student or partner organisation issues that arise with tact and diplomacy
  • Liaising with the faculties established group of industry contacts including organisations, companies and agencies in order to establish, maintain and expand mentoring and professional development opportunities for students
  • Developing and implementing marketing plans and effective recruitment strategies for the programs, in conjunction with faculty marketing
  • Continuous improvement practices for the programs
  • Interpreting and implementing relevant legislation, policies and procedures which impact on the programs

Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • Qualification in education or equivalent experience in student management or a related discipline.
  • Interpersonal skills with proven ability to liaise effectively at all levels with a diverse range of people using tact, discretion and confidentiality where necessary.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Desirable:

  • Qualifications or experience in business
  • Providing pastoral support to students in a secondary or tertiary education environment.
  • Working within the higher education sector.

Salary Package: from $80,231 - $88,561 p.a. (Level 6), plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading
