The Events and Domestic Protocol team develop, manage and produce a large range of events that contribute to the University's image and reputation, encourage participation, engage the wider community, and showcase the University and its research. Through events and other occasions, the University regularly welcomes high-profile visitors to campus, presenting opportunities to showcase the University and to enrich and develop relationships with key external stakeholders.
We are seeking an Events Protocol Specialist who will provide expert advice on protocol and etiquette to the Events team as well as the Office of the Vice-Chancellor and University executive, including special customs, behaviours and cultural considerations that are appropriate when hosting people in particular positions of influence and importance.
A typical day may include advising event organisers on forms of address and ceremonial matters at a high profile University event, writing event briefs for members of the University executive and communicating with guests and caterers regarding a formal VIP luncheon that you are organising for visiting dignitaries.
Possibly from a background in Government, VIP events or guest relations, you will have an impeccable attention to quality and detail, be calm under pressure, and understand what is required to manage protocol functions in a complex organisational environment.

- Demonstrated experience developing event or protocol related documentation, such as briefing documents and proposals.
- Strong knowledge of protocol and/or experience engaging with people in particular positions of influence and importance such as royalty, military, politicians, academic representatives, and business leaders.
- Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in preparing documentation.
- Experience and skill networking with local custodians who are key to events.

Salary Package: From $90,330- $97,937 p.a. (Level 7), plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading
