The Role

Macquarie University is seeking a Lecturer for a teaching and research position with a focus on evidence-based literacy instruction of students with special needs and disabilities. The successful applicant will engage in an active research program, supervise research students, and contribute to curriculum development and teaching.

About You

You will have completed a PhD or evidence of equivalent research recognition in a relevant discipline. You will have a degree in special education (preferably at postgraduate level), expertise in evidence-based literacy instruction and a strong record of delivering high quality learning and teaching. You will have a research program relevant to the position and a track record of quality publications. To be considered for this position, please apply online by submitting your CV and a separate cover letter that demonstrates how you meet the following selection criteria:

  • A degree in special education, preferably at postgraduate level
  • A PhD or evidence of equivalent research recognition in a relevant discipline
  • Experience in evidence-based literacy instruction and demonstrated ability to teach at university level.
  • Demonstrated academic knowledge in the discipline and a commitment and capability to deliver high quality learning and teaching in special education, including the design, delivery, and management of lectures, tutorials, and assessment
  • A research program relevant to the position
  • A record of quality publications
  • A demonstrated capacity to attract external funding for research
  • Excellent communication skills

Employment in this position is conditional upon holding a Working with Children Check Clearance.
