This role is open to application by mathematicians who have a strong research interest and background in the theory of Hardy and BMO functional spaces corresponding the differential operators. The successful candidate will work on the Australian Research Council Discovery Project Grant “Harmonic analysis of rough oscillations” and will collaborate with members of Macquarie University's Analysis Group and other participants of the Discovery Project. Applications are encouraged from candidates with expertise in the areas of spectral multipliers, BMO and Hardy spaces corresponding to elliptic partial differential operators.
Also, the successful candidate will conduct research under limited supervision and will be expected to make significant contributions to the mentioned above Discovery Project and to publish papers in well-regarded mathematical journals.
You will have completed a PhD in harmonic analysis, the theory of partial differential equations or a relevant discipline. Your collaborative approach to working with others will ensure you perform effectively within a multi-disciplinary team. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics’ research is recognised nationally and internationally, with groupings of mathematicians and statisticians working in analysis, biostatistics, category theory, fluid mechanics, mathematical and computational statistics, nonlinear dynamics, optimisation and waves. - A PhD awarded in harmonic analysis, partial differential equations or a relevant discipline
- Excellent knowledge and demonstrated experience in the theory of Hardy and BMO spaces
- An excellent research record shown by published works or preprints in the area of analysis of partial differential equations and harmonic analysis, especially in the theory of Hardy and BMO functional spaces corresponding to differential operators
- A track record of working on research projects both individually and in a team-based environment
- High level written and oral communication skills
- An ability to relate to and engage with other staff and students across diverse scientific backgrounds
