The School of Engineering offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs and employs casual academic staff to support the teaching of these programs. The School has, each year, employment opportunities for casual academic staff to support teaching in its programs. These roles will be undertaken under the supervision of full time academic staff. Expressions of Interest are invited from appropriately qualified professionals to take practical/tutorial classes during day and/or evening sessions. Appointed casual academic staff are expected to assist preparing lessons, teaching, student consultation, and the marking of assessments/examinations.

Note that some units offered may not require any casual academic staff depending on student enrolment numbers.
To be considered for tutor positions, applicants must possess the following:
- An undergraduate degree (3 years +) relevant to their desired teaching discipline(s);
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others; and,
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students.
- All applicants must possess a current right to work in Australia. As these positions are casual, we are unable to offer sponsorship.
- Previous tertiary level teaching experience is desired.
- List of four unit preferences and explanation on why you are qualified to teach each unit

- academic qualifications
- professional qualifications
- industry experience/work history
- Unit Preferences (1: most preferred to 4: least preferred)
- Teaching experience, where applicable.

Expressions of Interest (EOI) will be closed by Monday 31st Dec 2018 for 2019 teaching. Applicants will receive a response notifying them of the outcome by the end of Feb 2019. Successful EOIs will be kept on file, and may be considered again when a vacancy arises.
Candidates will be contacted via email where there is an appropriate match of their skill base, disciplinary background, availability, and offerings. There could be interviews for those who are shortlisted (tentative interview schedules: from 28 Jan to 8 Feb 2018).
