The Role

We are seeking additional support to deliver the services provided by the Macquarie University Reading Clinic. This role will provide reading and spelling treatment and assessment services to clients aged 6 years through to adults.

This is a casual position and we are seeking applicants who are available for at least 3 days per week (preferably 4).  

About You

You will have a strong interest and knowledge of reading and spelling difficulties from a practical and theoretical standpoint and will have an undergraduate degree in either education or a cognition-related discipline such as psychology or speech and language. Ideally, you will have practical knowledge in assessment of reading and spelling disorders. You will also bring your strong administration and organisation skills that you have obtained from similar practice/clinic/classroom roles.

  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant Education or Cognition-related discipline (e.g. Psychology, Speech & Language).
  • Demonstrated intermediate - advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office, and web-based communication programs (e.g. Skype).
  • Applied theoretical and practical knowledge about reading and spelling difficulties.
  • Demonstrated practical knowledge and experience in assessment of reading and spelling disorders, or other cognitive assessments.
  • Proven strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Employment in this position is conditional upon holding a Working with Children Check Clearance.
