The Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Learning Designer within the Faculty of Arts. Working within the Learning and Teaching team led by the Associate Dean Learning and Teaching, the Learning Designer will provide support in the design, development and maintenance of learning and teaching resources and programs to enable blended, face to face and online teaching and learning across the Faculty.  With a strong focus on curriculum development the Learning Designer will:

  • Design, develop and implement curriculum and resources for academic staff across the Faculty;
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of learning and teaching strategies, programs and practices for the Faculty;
  • Provide educational innovation support and advice to academic and professional staff across the Faculty on educational approaches, educational technologies and use of learning spaces; and
  • Build and manage relationships with internal stakeholders.

About You

You are an experienced, creative and proactive Learning Designer with a track record of success in supporting the design, development and implementation of innovative curricula and assessments in higher education. You build collaborative and positive working relationships with colleagues to achieve strategic outcomes, reliably deliver projects against milestones, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Degree in a relevant discipline with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience;
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum design and higher education best practices in teaching delivery and assessment;
  • A record of past achievement developing engaging and effective learning resources;
  • Strong skills in building and managing productive relationships with a range of stakeholders;
  • Creative problem-solving abilities, and excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
  • Demonstrated experience in completing projects on time and with positive stakeholder outcomes.

The following criterion will be well regarded:

  • Experience with Web authoring tools, Web-based collaboration environments, multimedia tools, presentation software, streaming video and learning management systems.
